There are so many moments that define life and I am at the point where I can go back in time and try to capture some of the moments that have been defining for both me and for my family - or even just for those whom I have observed.
Many days, months and years have passed since this posting blog gleaned any of my attention. Perhaps at first thought that is because there has been nothing profound to say. Then, I decide that is the furthest from the truth. The fact is that the actual living has surpassed the moments to grab much reflection.
Today,  as I watched the 2012 Olympics being held in London, I saw the work and dreams of an olympic swimmer stop and restart. A disqualification off the blocks caused a judge to say he was out and then they reviewed the instant replay and withdrew the ruling. What a quick emotional ride. Disbelief, anger, frustration, relief, excitement and then move on because the overall event is not over until the finals. In a way that is life. Work hard and get some aspects spot on, and though some right are judged wrong. We get some breaks and sometimes no matter what the event, we get twisted and treated unjustly. It simply happens and how we react must be appropriate because our reaction could be what defines and takes the moment in a whole new direction. Be known for focus, completion and passion for greatness. On the swimming line of thought - the heat is quick - so is life. Finish strong.

The Rain

Sometimes the rain just cleans up the air. There are so many decisions to make when you are young and they each seem to be the one decision that will define your life. But there is something comforting about rain. It cleans the pollen out of the air and off the cars. Rain gives you permission to sleep late and do nothing. I rolled over this morning and heard the rain and smiled.
Ok...so I groaned because the dogs still have to go out and eat to start their day. But the rest of the house can sleep peacefully.
So listen to the falling rain and breathe deep. It is a chance to clean everything up and begin again.
